Trying new things, a family challenge.

Sometimes (I know it's hard to believe) I get paralyzed with fear of try new things. Mostly worried about what if it doesnt go as planned. Which for anyone who knows me, it never does. Ever. So we recently set off on a weekend of trying new things. Me and three kids. Henry tried swinging and LOVED it!

Ava tried it too and got stuck!
Well the other big trial was taking all three to a birthday party at the Hampden Pool (sorry no picts). Henry had never been swimming, Michael has had episodes in the past where he is overcome with nervousness and has had to leave. Neither one of my big kids swims super well, they love the water but usually need a pair of floaties to help them and me feel secure. Michael swims as if he were drowning and sometimes its hard to tell if he needs a rescue or is fine. We had the best time. Henry LOVED the water, he squealed and splashed away. Ava and Michael were totally self-suficient. Swam like little fish with no floaties and even the dreaded changing rooms went off without a hitch. We had the best time! So here is to our good friends Leanne, David, Abbie and Anna who helped us to take that step outside our comfort zone and try new things, because despite all my worries. Sometimes it does go well.
